Workshops

I am currently teaching four fiber workshops in my home studio in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. That's in Bergen County, top of the Garden State Parkway, less than an hour from Manhattan.

I teach fiber art skills in an unconventional way with lots of experimentation, rule-breaking, and humor.

Anyone can make felt! Even if you are not "creative" or "artsy." Felting is low-tech, non-toxic, and requires little equipment or space. Plus it's really fun. Not only will you finish a project (instant gratification), you'll have a great time.

Workshops run from 10 am to 2 or 3 pm with a lunch break.

Why not schedule a workshop with some friends? Gather a few friends and find which days work for you, week or weekend. Click here to schedule your own convenient workshop or to be included on my mailing list for scheduled workshops.

Feltmaking Basics (for beginners)
10 am to 2 or 3 pm

Discover the limitless possibilities of felt in this hands-on workshop. Learn the basics of felting, including why and how wool felts with only fleece, soap and water. Experiment with mixing colors of fleece and make various thicknesses of felt. Learn how to embellish felt with any kind of yarn (not just wool!) and make designs using pre-felted pieces.

You will complete either a vessel or a tote bag, eyeglass case, or cell phone holder with attached strap. With this knowledge you can continue making seamless objects or make beautiful felt yardage for pillows, blankets, vests, you name it! Other projects will be taught, as time allows.

This 1 day workshop is for beginners. Cost is $90 including all supplies.
